Statement Affirming Black Lives Matter

Acknowledgement of Land and Indigenous People

Let us acknowledge the Piscataway people, on whose traditional territory our gathering will be held. We acknowledge their leaders, past, present, and emerging. In 2012, Maryland recognized both the Piscataway Indian Nation and the Piscataway Conoy Tribe as Indian groups under a process established by the General Assembly. We encourage you to visit their website of the Piscataway Conoy Tribe and learn about the history of this tribe. These tribes are still not federally recognized.

We also acknowledge the Susquehannok people, who by many accounts were in relationship with this land as well.

Indigenous people are not a thing of the past. They exist now, and their leadership is present and vital. Baltimore Reclaiming would like to recognize the leadership of the Baltimore American Indian Center. We encourage you to support this organization directly.

 Welcome to Baltimore Reclaiming

Welcome to Baltimore Reclaiming. Baltimore Reclaiming is a radically inclusive community of witches who use our magic to bring transformation, justice and healing to ourselves, Baltimore and the world. We are also artists, pagans, healersactivists,  priestesses, anarchists, theater geeks, feminists, and other good humans.  We see our work as teaching and making magic: the art of empowering ourselves and each other. In our classes, workshops, and public rituals, we train our voices, bodies, energy, intuition, and minds. We use the skills we learn to deepen our strength, both as individuals and as community, to voice our concerns about the world in which we live, and bring to birth a vision of a new culture. We gather, mostly on the Sabbats, to work magic, often for personal healing and also for the healing of our society and planet. We believe that the work we do together in our sacred circles really can change the world.

Founded around 1980 in the San Francisco Bay Area, the Reclaiming tradition now includes regional communities throughout the world.

Whether you are new to working with magic or are old hat at this, we welcome you to join us for one of our events. Learn what to expect at Reclaiming-style ritual, and a few of the ways Reclaiming is unique.  Want to know more?  Get in touch and we will be happy to correspond with you before you take the plunge and join us in person!
