Autumn Equinox with Baltimore Reclaiming
Saturday, September 28, 2024
Lakeside Park Pavilion (also called Parkie Lakeside Pavilion) at Druid Hill Park (Red Road + East Drive)
It's almost time for our autumn equinox celebration. This event marks the end of summer. It is not a full ritual: we basically have a potluck in the park and gather to watch the sunset together. Autumn equinox is one of two times of the year that day and night are relatively equal, and so on these days we celebrate balance-- we breathe together, give and receive physical things and food, and generally celebrate those fleeting seconds between life changing moments and decisions. We will have a clothing and witchy items swap table, so bring some of your old ritual wear, half used incense packets, old books, items you're wanting to pass along, etc.
This is also a great time to bring: tarot cards, musical instruments, talents you want to show off, games you might want to play, petitions or other activist-related things you'd like support on, and family and friends-- kids are welcome at this event, and we will be close to a playground. Like all our events, this one does not include drugs or alcohol, so please save any activities involving these substances for another time.
Who is Baltimore Reclaiming? Baltimore Reclaiming is a radically inclusive community of witches who use our magic to bring transformation, justice and healing to ourselves, Baltimore and the world. We are a group of witches, artists, pagans, healers, activists, queers, priestesses, anarchists, theater geeks, feminists, and other good humans. We see our work as teaching and making magic: the art of empowering ourselves and each other. In our classes, workshops, and public rituals, we train our voices, bodies, energy, intuition, and minds. We use the skills we learn to deepen our strength, both as individuals and as community, to voice our concerns about the world in which we live, and bring to birth a vision of a new culture. We gather, mostly on the Sabbats, to work magic, often for personal healing and also for the healing of our society and planet. We believe that the work we do together in our sacred circles really can change the world.
